A luxury beach holiday is about to hit Australia’s biggest city.
The city of Big Sur will be offering up to $10,000 for a weekend on the beach at its famous Lake Ting, the first time the city has ever offered such a bargain, according to the local ABC news website.
It is the first of its kind in Australia and the first ever honeymoon vacation for residents of Big South.
The deal is worth just $4,000 a day.
“I don’t want to say the price is really cheap, but it is certainly not the cheapest option,” the ABC reports tourism manager of the Big South, Michael D. Wylie.
In addition to the $4k, the deal is valid for any holiday destination, from Sydney to Melbourne, New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia.
The price includes the weekend accommodation, breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Big Sur residents will be able to book the hotel rooms for the weekend from April 21.
The city’s mayor, Tony O’Rourke, said it was a unique opportunity for locals to stay in the Sunshine State.
We’re really excited about this.
We’ve had a lot of tourism in the last five years, so I’m really excited that we’re getting this opportunity to showcase our city to visitors, he told the ABC.
Tourism has been booming in the city, which is the second-biggest in the world behind New York.
