On the heels of his first NHL hat trick, Beau Bennett is set to make an impression on Colorado Avalanche fans on the eve of their first outdoor game of the season.
Bennett is coming off a career-best season for the Avs, which saw him score 27 goals and lead the team in assists with 48.
He will be reunited with the Avalanche for the first time since 2011-12 when he was a member of the Vancouver Canucks.
Brent Seabrook, the Avalanche’s head coach, said Bennett is ready to show his new team how much he has grown since joining the club in 2013.
“He’s been here so long, and now he’s got a new team and new teammates,” Seabros said.
“So we’re really excited for him and his growth.
He’s going to make a big impact.
The Avs are coming off an 8-8-2 season and a disappointing sixth-place finish in the Western Conference standings.
They have lost seven straight games and will host the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday night.
The Aves are off on their summer vacation, and Bennett is expected to be a major part of that.
The Colorado Avalanche are hosting the Anaheim Angels of Anaheim at Colorado’s Pepsi Center on Thursday, May 30, 2017.
